NFM Builds Community! by Lynette Jandl

Besides all the fresh, tasty foods and a lively outdoor experience, the Northside Farmers Market has become an important community building event that happens every Sunday morning from the first Sunday in May to the last Sunday in October.

Each week, hundreds of new faces and old faces form an atmosphere where spontaneous conversations help to solidify neighborhood happenings and future plans. Sometimes new ideas are born in this unique social environment.

Community Tent
Northsiders gather at the market every Sunday.

A huge "thank you!"  goes out to all the giving volunteers who have come every Sunday to set up the information tent, the community tent and shady sitting area that add to the town square like gathering of minds. The ripple effect of the ideas and plans that are born and furthered at the Northside Farmers Market have a long-lasting effect on the quality of life in our city.

We still have 7 markets to come this season, three in September and 4 in October. Enjoy them all and consider stopping at the Information Booth to find out how you can help. The more the merrier!
